What did Egyptian children play before screens?

Old street games were more than entertainment: movement, imagination, negotiation and friendship happened in the same place.

How was seven stones played?

One team stacked seven flat pieces. The other knocked them down with a ball and tried to stop the stack being rebuilt. It combined movement, focus and teamwork.

Why do street games still matter?

They combine physical activity, decisions and belonging. A safe, organised place can bring that spirit back without pretending the past was perfect.

Is this a complete history of Egyptian childhood?

No. Memories differ by home, street and governorate. This experience opens the conversation; the best part is finishing it with the person who played beside you.
